Charlamagne Tha God is the co-host of the Breakfast Club. He gained notoriety through his interviews with rap and hip-hop stars. He was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree when he was 22. A 15-year-old accused him of rape. When the police arrived at the Short Naval Recreation Center, they talked to Jessica Reid and another girl. Both females were heavily intoxicated and couldn’t remember where they were or how they got there.
Reid’s friend said she found her lying naked and reported that Jessica was raped. There was an on-scene investigation, hospital examination, and a statement about Charlamagne being her rapist. Reid was uncooperative with the Prosecution, while Charlamagne was cooperative with the authorities during the investigation.
Since the witness was not cooperating, Charlamagne Tha God pled guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He received three years’ probation and the case was disposed of in 2002. Jessica Reid brought the case back into the public eye almost 15 years later. Reid said her mother told her to not cooperate with Prosecutors when she was a teenager. Charlamagne Tha God was eventually cleared of the charge and the case was dropped in 2018. His DNA was not found in any swabs collected by the rape kit in 2001. He voluntarily gave his DNA during the investigation.
Jessica Reid went on the Star In The Morning show and talked about the alleged incident. She said Charlamagne was the culprit and discredited his character. The content of the interview was spread by the media outlets. People tried to ban Charlamagne from the Breakfast Club. Go To this Page for more information.
Survivors of sexual crimes should never be discounted, discredited, or diminished. However, the effects of false allegations need to be considered. People who are falsely accused of sexual crimes face irrevocable consequences.
